Coming up to the end of another year’s tuition. Just wanted to say how much I have appreciated your patient teaching. I have already learnt more and play so much better than I could have believed. I am very grateful to you for helping me to fulfill a lifetime’s ambition to play the guitar.” Peter Snaith.
“I’ve been having guitar lessons with Peter for about 6 years and this has given me the confidence and understanding to achieve the grades I needed at school, and allowed me to gain my place at University to continue my study of music. At my audition for University, the interviewer commented that I must have a very good teacher as I’d been taught correctly and hadn’t picked up any bad habits. I would recommend Peter to anyone, as he’s been so supportive of me through my learning. I have thoroughly enjoyed my lessons and will miss them whilst at University.” Megan Monro.
I’ve been learning with Peter for around six years now and he still finds new ways to challenge me. His course has been perfect in changing me from a young wannabe rocker with no sense of rhythm or timing, to someone with the confidence to take grade exams (so far grade seven with distinction), and perform in bands. It’s safe to say that I wouldn’t be the guitarist I am today without him, and would thoroughly recommend him.” David Duce. (Deputy Head Boy, William Harvey Grammar School.)
“I have been passionate about music throughout my life and have always wanted to learn to play the guitar, never quite getting round to it, there is always something else to focus on. Eventually I decided it was now or never and I have been learning guitar with Peter for over three years. I like the fact that he has a structured course as it gives me a focus but within the structure there is great flexibility and I really appreciate that as it enables me to put the emphasis on the style of guitar music which interests me most. Peter has a great deal of patience and I have found him very encouraging. I am already playing pieces of music I did not think I could ever manage.” Fran Lintern.
“Pete is a great teacher of guitar, he must be, he taught me. After years of dabbling about with the guitar I decided to start doing it properly. Pete has raised my understanding of timing, precision, improvisation and theory. Blues is my preference but we have covered many other styles but my main achievement is I can now play solo’s with the right notes and in the right order!” Steve Haselgrove.
“I have been learning guitar with Peter for about five years now. Each lesson has been a pleasure, and Peter knows exactly what course he wants to take me down, taking into consideration his wide knowledge of music and of what he knows about my own personal taste in music. He is more than prepared to teach me a wide range of genres to match my ability, as well as being happy to teach me songs I request of him at the drop of a hat- the chances are he will already have the song in his stash anyway! Finally, Peter is very supportive and interested in my music outside of school, even asking to be informed of any nearby gigs so that he might be able to support my band.” Nick Tompkins.
